Adam Gonzalez wins 2011 AASL Scholarship

Amherst Steele 2011 grad Adam Gonzalez won the AASL Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement and community involvement.
Adam played in-house and AASL ball for Amherst for 8 years being coached by Ed Hamm and his dad, Gary Gonzalez. He then went on to play for Black River SC and Ohio Premier while playing at Amherst Steele. He was a senior co-captain for Steele as they achieved their highest win total and their first ever #1 seed in the District.
He will be attending and playing soccer for Marietta College while pursuing a degree in Petroleum Engineering.

Throughout the year, your commitment and effort help to build a
successful soccer team. As your official sporting goods retailer, Dick’s
Sporting Goods wants to recognize your dedication by extending an
exclusive invitation to a one day team shopping event at the Elyria
Dick’s Sporting Goods store location (360 Market Dr) on Saturday,
August 13th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Every member of your
organization attending this event will receive a soccer team packet with
discount coupons for soccer equipment. In addition to the team packet
discounts, you will receive an additional 15% off your entire
purchase on that day. Please bring this letter with you to the event.
You must present it at the register to receive your discount. We hope
that you will take advantage of this team shopping event, so your team
can enjoy our best products at a great savings!

AYSA Registration Fall 2011/Spring 2012
For any boy or girl ages 4yrs (by July 31st 2011) – 14 yrs old. This registration is for everyone and will register your child for the fall 2011/spring 2012 season.
When: Thursday, June 16th 6-8:00pm at the Nordson Depot, Amherst
You must have a copy of your child’s birth certificate that the AYSA will keep for their records at the time of registration. If your child is 7yrs or older we will also need a picture for their player pass at the time of registration. We are also looking for parents who would like to coach their child’s teams. It is very fun and rewarding experience. If you coach your child’s team registration fees will be waived.
Cost: Girls and Boys ages 4-7yrs in House Soccer $75.00. County and NOGSL 7 yrs and up $100.00 Checks made payable to AYSA. Any questions, please contact Misty Kelley at 988-2004 or cometkelleys@aol.com
